Once Abolished By The National Police Chief, Manual Tickets Are Again Implemented In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police has again implemented a pattern of dealing with manual fines against motorists who violate traffic rules.

Meanwhile, the manual enforcement mechanism was abolished by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The decision was issued in telegram No. ST/2264/X/HUM.3.4.5./2022, dated 18 October 2022.

"A permanent manual ticket for reckless violators who violate traffic seems to be ticketed," said Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Director Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Monday, May 15.

Manual fines are applied in areas not covered by Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE). So, it is expected that the drivers can be more obedient driving.

"Electronic prosecution is still running, but if the officer sees a violation, for example, it is dangerous, it will be stopped, given a ticket," he said.

Latif added that even though a manual ticket was applied, traffic members would not conduct a raid at one point. They will only take action manually if they see violations where they are on duty.

"For the inspection, it will be the one who commits the violation. But we don't have stationary raids, no. So people are already active. If they don't commit violations, don't be afraid," said Latif.
