South Sulawesi Social Service Officials Suspectedly Mark-up Covid-19 Social Assistance Budget, Immediately Deactivated Governor

MAKASSAR - Officials on duty at the South Sulawesi Provincial Government Social Service are suspected of marking up the 2020 COVID-19 food aid budget.

South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah confirmed that he had acted decisively by dismissing the official concerned. Prof. NA — Nurdin's nickname — handed over further handling to the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) to be forwarded to law enforcers.

"I have asked APIP to hand over to APH. What is certain is that I have deactivated the officials, we have deactivated them, but if you write news, don't be too bombastic," said Prof. NA to reporters Wednesday, January 20.

The South Sulawesi Social Agency official is at an internal hearing at the South Sulawesi Provincial Government. He is said to have inflated the price of basic food supplies distributed by the provincial government to residents.

So that the incident did not happen again, Prof. NA emphasized that he would fire the officials involved in irregularities.

"That's why I immediately fired the non-job right. Already in non-job, we direct it to the legal process," he said.
