The Aceh Jaya Police have arrested F (53), a suspected perpetrator of sexual harassment and rape of five minors in the local district.

Yudi Wiyono said the alleged criminal case of sexual harassment and rape was revealed based on reports from the victim's parents on Thursday (4/2).

"From the results of the initial examination that became victims, it turned out that five minors were between 6 and 8 years old," he said.

Currently, investigators have confiscated evidence in the form of one navy blue shorts, one shorts shirt with short sleeves, and one black underwear.

After holding a case on Saturday (6/5), with the fulfillment of two sufficient pieces of evidence, the alleged perpetrator was named a suspect and detained for the next 20 days.

"The perpetrator is subject to Article 50 in conjunction with Article 47 of Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law with a maximum threat of 200 lashes or a maximum fine of 2,000 grams of pure gold or a maximum prison sentence of 200 months," he said.

The Aceh Jaya Police appealed to parents to be more vigilant and supervise their children's interactions and how to dress their children who are teenagers and minors.

To young women and children, he continued, not to wear clothes that are too open in public and to avoid posting photos wearing open clothes on social media.

"Be aware of unknown people. Strive not to leave the house alone at night, and immediately go to the crowd if you feel that you are being followed by suspicious people who are suspected of committing sexual crimes," said AKBP Yudi Wiyono.
