PAN Responds To Golkar Opportunities To Join Gerindra-PKB Coalition: Everything Is Not Final

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Yandri Susanto responded to the discourse of the possibility of the Golkar Party joining the Greater Indonesia Awakening (KIR) coalition initiated by the National Awakening Party (PKB) and Gerindra.

"All of these possibilities are very open because not a coalition has yet established who with whom, what party with what party, does not exist," Yandri said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 6.

He said that each political party is currently still looking for a pattern and has not finalized the coalition and presidential candidates (candidates) or vice presidential candidates to be promoted in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"Mau Golkar, Gerindra, NasDem, Demokrat, PAN, mau yang lain, semuanya masih mencari pola sekarang. Semua masih sangat cair, belum ada yang mengatakan putus sekarang. Belum ada yang memfinalisasi koalisi dan calon yang akan diusung," ujarnya.

Yandri assessed that the coalition between parties at this time is still uncertain. Therefore, he said, gatherings or inter-leading meetings of political parties are important.

"Now it's still very fluid and that's good. For example, later there will be differences in choices, differences in candidates, because they have been in touch frequently, tensions in 2024 can be more neutralized, unlike in 2019. That's why friendship is important," he said.

Yandri also said that he respected the meeting of the General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto with PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin at the Plataran Senayan restaurant, Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/5).

"Everyone is respectful and good in the current dynamics. This gathering is good now, visiting each other, exchanging ideas. Then, it seems like they want to build a coalition, but there is no final word yet," he said.

It is known, from the meeting the Golkar Party and PKB agreed to build a core coalition as a follow-up to the discourse on forming a major coalition.

The Golkar Party together with PKB have also appointed a winning team from each party representative, where from the Golkar Party, namely the chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Nusron Wahid and from PKB, namely the chairman of the PKB DPP Faisol Reza.

Previously, PKB DPP chairman Faisol Riza claimed that Golkar had agreed to join forces to add members of the Greater Indonesia Awakening coalition (KIR).

"Golkar has a long experience in government, Gerindra and PKB need that to make Indonesia more advanced," said Faisol in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday (4/5).

It is known that PAN together with Golkar and the United Development Party (PPP) formed the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB). Meanwhile, the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR) was initiated by PKB and Gerindra.
