KPK Waits For Lawyer Lukas Enembe Who Was Canceled To Be Investigated As A Suspect

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asked the lawyer for the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, Stefanus Roy Rening to attend on Tuesday, May 9. This request was made because he was no longer present at the examination of the suspect which should have been carried out on Friday, May 5.

"(We, ed) are waiting on Tuesday," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to VOI, Saturday, May 6.

Ali did not want to talk much about the suspect's investigation. He only reminded Stefanus as a cooperative suspect to fulfill the summons.

Lawyer Stefanus Roy Rening asked to postpone the investigation as a suspect because of his claim he was being treated at the hospital.

"Our client, Mr. Roy, is exhausted by activities and needs outpatient care," said Stefanus Roy Rening's team of attorneys, Emanuel Herdiyanto, to reporters, Friday, May 5.

Emanuel said Stefanus had to be treated until May 4-6. Thus, the legal team asked for an examination to be carried out on Tuesday, May 9.

"We make sure on Tuesday Mr. Roy will come," he said.

The anti-corruption commission will examine Roy as a suspect in the alleged obstruction to the investigation of the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. He is suspected of giving suggestions so that his client is not cooperative.

Previously, the KPK asked the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent the lawyer for the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, Stefanus Roy Rening and three other people from leaving the country. This prevention is carried out so that the four people are cooperative when needed information.

Not only Stefanus, but prevention was also carried out against Fredrik Banne, who is an employee of PT Tabi Bangun Papua; Head of PUPR Papua Province, Gerius One Yoman; and Commissioner of PT Nirwana Sukman. They will not be able to go abroad for six months and can be extended.
