Airlangga Waits For The Technical Team Report Regarding The Coalition's Future With KIR

JAKARTA - Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said his party was still waiting for a report from the technical team of the Golkar Party regarding the future with the Greater Indonesia Awakening coalition (KIR) initiated by PKB and Gerindra.

"The meeting of the technical team will be Nusron (Wahid), so let Nusron report. Nusron has not reported yet, his team is indeed Nusron with Faisol Riza," said Airlangga after having a conversation with Jusuf Kalla at his residence, Jalan Brawijaya Raya, South Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.

Airlangga also said that during the gathering, his party also provided updates on the development of the coalition built by Golkar to JK.

Previously, the Chairman of the DPP National Awakening Party (PKB) Faisol Riza claimed that Golkar had agreed to join forces to add members of the Greater Indonesia Awakening (KIR) coalition initiated by PKB and Gerindra.

"Golkar has a long experience in government, Gerindra and PKB need that to make Indonesia more advanced," said Faisol in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.

This was said by Faisol revealing the results of the meeting between the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin and Golkar Chairman Airlangga Hartanto which took place at the Senayan Court Resto, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/5).

The PKB and Golkar cooperation scheme, said Faisol, is to prepare for the presidential election victory (pilpres) by strengthening the protection of Prabowo and Cak Imin as candidates for president (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres).

"The cooperation scheme between PKB and Golkar to prepare a winning scheme for the 2024 presidential election is to enlarge KIR and strengthen Mas Bowo-Cak Imin," said Faisol.

Faisol also explained that PKB and Golkar had appointed a technical team to form a major coalition after the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) was abandoned by the United Development Party (PPP).

He said the meeting between Golkar and PKB at the halalbihalal event on Wednesday (3/5) was part of an effort to form the grand coalition. The two parties agreed to be part of the core team of the major coalition.
