10 Perpetrators Of Rape Of 2 Children In Asahan Arrested By Police

The Asahan Police Satreskrim personnel arrested 10 perpetrators of sexual abuse of two minors carried out in Buntu Pane District and boarding houses in Tanjung Alam Village, Sei Dadap District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra.

"There are 10 suspects, 2 minors, and 8 adults," said Asahan Police Chief AKBP Rocky H Marpaung as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.

Rocky said the sexual abuse of 2 minors was carried out in Buntu Pane District, Asahan Regency, Friday (14/04).

The two underage victims were initially lured with some money. Then the two victims were taken to the oil palm plantation area and fed with liquor.

"Furthermore, when the victim was half conscious, the two victims were sexually assaulted," continued Rocky.

The police chief said that on Saturday (15/04) the two victims were again raped in a boarding house in Tanjung Alam Village, Sei Dadap District, Asahan Regency.

"The articles imposed on the suspect are Article 81 paragraph 1 and Article 81 paragraph 2 of Law Number 17 of 2016, prohibited from committing threats or violence against children. Having intercourse with him or with other people, and threatening a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years with a fine of Rp. 5 billion," said the Asahan Police Chief.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Asahan Regency Government's Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPKBPPPA), Edy Sukmana, said that the two underage victims would be given assistance to relieve trauma in this case.

"The problem of the victim's education, his party has consulted with the Asahan Regency Education Office," he said.
