Jalan Otista Officially Closed, Bogor City Government Alerts Personnel 24 Hours

BOGOR - Jalan Otista was officially closed on Monday, May 1 evening. In order to anticipate the traffic jam of the main route in Bogor City, Bogor City will be guarded for 24 hours.

"We just activated the traffic control light at Tugu Kujang as a sign of the enactment of traffic engineering and also the closure of the Otista Bridge," said Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto, Monday, May 1 evening.

According to him, hundreds of officers were alerted for 24 hours to regulate traffic flow. They will be placed at the points that have been prepared.

"We will arrange 24-hour pickets for the next week, by involving all elements to see, secure and evaluate the implementation in the field," he said.

The 24-hour arrangement by the officer was deliberately carried out to anticipate traffic jams. Because on Tuesday, May 2 morning, it was the first day of work and also school after the 1444 Hijri Eid holiday.

For this reason, the Bogor City Government has also changed the hours of entering kindergarten/PAUD, elementary to junior high school, which was originally at 07.00 WIB to 08.00 WIB. This temporary policy is valid from 2-9 May 2023.

"We hope that later the residents can adjust everything. This morning we will also continue to patrol to make sure everything goes according to plan," he said.

When the closure was carried out towards the Otista Bridge access, Jalan Pajajaran in front of the PMI Hospital immediately activated two lanes.

Traffic light at Tugu Kujang which leads to Pajajaran Street and PMI is reactivated. Vehicles leading from Baranangsiang Terminal cannot turn left towards Otista Street.

Even so, the Bogor City Government opens suggestions from the public that when implementing traffic engineering, some must be evaluated by adjusting the set scenario.

In addition, Bima Arya also confirmed that he would accommodate the traders who competed in the Otista Bridge area.

"For residents who trade here, we will accommodate them so they are not affected by the closure of this artist," he said.
