Jambi - The Jambi Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BSKDA) was asked to immediately catch a sun bear (Helarctos malayanus) which has often been seen in the gardens of residents of Kulbi Bay, West Tanjung Jabung Regency (Tanjabbar). "Because we are worried that there will be casualties due to animal conflicts with humans such as the sun bear measuring almost one and a half meters, we have written to and asked the BKSDA to catch the wildlife," said the head of Teluk Kulbi Village, Yuswaji when contacted, Antara, Tuesday, May 2. In recent days the bear has been seen in the video footage of residents roaming the gardens belonging to residents of West Tanjab. The last bear was seen roaming RT09, Suak Rengas, Teluk Kulbi Village, Betara District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. To anticipate unwanted incidents, the public is asked to be vigilant when doing activities in their respective gardens so that there are no victims later. Yuswaji added that his party asked the public to be careful with the presence of these wild animals. His party has also written and coordinated with the Jambi Province BKSDA regarding the existence of this wild animal. For the time being, the village is working with the district BKSDA.

The heads of the local RT were asked to convey to the public to remain vigilant. There were no casualties in the conflict.
