The National Police intervened to investigate the alleged bribery of Rp1.7 billion at the North Kalimantan Regional Police (Kaltara) related to the handling of the oil fuel trade case (BBM). A team from the General Supervision Inspectorate (Itwasum) and the Professional and Security Division (Propam) were deployed.
"Currently there is a team from Itwasum and Propam working on the case," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho to VOI, Friday, April 28.
However, regarding the results of the investigation or temporary developments, Sandi could not comment. He only said that everything regarding the case would be conveyed in its entirety when everything was completed.
"We'll wait for the results," said Sandi.
The alleged bribery or receipt of the money was first conveyed by the Chairman of Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Sugeng Teguh Santoso. He said he had evidence in the form of CCTV footage that could show that the Kaltara Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya was involved.
However, Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya dismissed the allegations. He firmly said there was no involvement whatsoever.
In addition to denying, it was also emphasized that the allegations or information regarding this matter had been processed at the National Police Headquarters Paminal.
"One thing we will say is that it is not true," said Daniel.
On the other hand, he explained the handling of the case. According to him, the action taken by the Tarakan Police against the perpetrators was in accordance with the rules.
"Because this process went according to the SOP. It was done by the Tarakan Police, then initially it was suspected that it was the misuse of fuel trading in the Oil and Gas Law, but it turned out to be embezzlement,” said Daniel.
In addition, he said that in the case of fuel embezzlement there were already suspects. However, the owner of fuel or the victim who felt aggrieved by the suspect's actions requested that this case be processed by restorative justice or restorative justice.
"Because the suspect was actually his subordinate (victim) so there was an agreement and they asked for RJ (restorative justice)," said the Kapolda.
