BANDAR LAMPUNG - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said travelers from Sumatra set a schedule and did not rush back to Java.

"The flow back from Sumatra to Java, especially seems more evenly, God willing, the handling can be much easier than the flow of homecoming," said Coordinating Minister Muhadjir, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 25.

Of course, he continued, the smoothness of this backflow is also thanks to good cooperation from the community, especially travelers from Sumatra to Java who are not centered on certain days and hours of traveling.

Therefore, Coordinating Minister Muhadjir also asked travelers from Sumatra not to rush back to Java if there was no urgent need so that it was possible that they would not be trapped in traffic jams.

"I am very happy with this collaboration. Especially the drivers who will go to Java Island from Sumatra, please hear the announcement and provisions from the government," he said.

Meanwhile, ASDP Technical and Facilities Director Kusnadi Candra Wijaya, at the same location revealed that so far there have been around 15 percent of visitors from Sumatra crossing to Java Island.

"Our data on yesterday's homecoming flow for the number of passengers from Java to Sumatra is around 800 thousand, while for the vehicle there are 156 thousand. Our prediction for backflow is not far from that figure and so far only 15 percent of the number of passengers and vehicles on the homecoming flow have returned to Java Island," he said.

Previously, Corporate Secretary of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Shelvy Arifin, said that according to the direction of the Ministry of Transportation, port services would be transferred according to the type of vehicle. Crossing the Bakauheni-Merak crossing will apply special rules for each group of vehicles.
