JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and Mrs. Wury Ma'ruf Amin carry out Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri prayers at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, Saturday 22 April.

The Eid prayer starts at 07.00 WIB led by Imam Ahmad Muzakkir Abdurrahman as Imam Rawatib of the Istiqlal Mosque, while the Chancellor of the Jakarta State Islamic University (UIN) Asep Saepudin Jahar acts as a preacher who brings a sermon with the theme "Idulfitri Momentum Spreads Sorry for Community Harmony". Before the prayer started, Vice President Ma'ruf had time to sound the takbir for about 10 minutes.

"The character of the person who takes care of is generous in any condition and able to forgive others," said Asep Saepudin Jahar at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, Saturday.

The vice president wearing a "navy" blue coat, black skullcap, and blue plaid sarong took place in the front row between the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2004-2009 and 2014-2019 periods M Jusuf Kalla and khatib Asep Saepudin Jahar. In the front row were also the Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar, Chairman of the Supreme Court HM Syarifuddin, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrief, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, Deputy Minister of Religion Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi, former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, ambassadors of friendly countries, and leaders of high state institutions.

This year, the Istiqlal Mosque has prepared room for 250,000 congregations to carry out Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri prayers. The congregation prays up to the 4th floor of the Istiqlal Mosque. Imam Besar Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar previously said that his party had provided various facilities to support the implementation of Eid prayers, such as the addition of ablution places, preparation of fire engines, ambulances, and goods storage systems.

The Istiqlal Mosque is equipped with at least 146 surveillance cameras (CCTV) at various points to maintain security during worship.

Congregants can enter through Al-Ghaffar Gate, Al-Aziz, Al-Fattah and Al Mukmin, while for special guests, such as ministers, ambassadors, and other officials enter through Al-Salam Gate.
