Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said the presidential candidate his party would be announced at the right moment. The announcement will be made directly by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. It is not certain when the exact momentum to wait will be. However, Hasto said his party was preparing a number of events in June. "Yes, the right moment, of course, Mrs. Mega will see it later but the party will prepare various events," Hasto told reporters in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 19. "For example, in June from June 1, the birth of Pancasila, June 6, the birth of Bung Karno, June 21, Bung Karno's death and on June 24, we held a consolidation peak and peak of Bung Karno's month commemoration at Gelora Bung Karno Senayan," he continued. Meanwhile, regarding his figure, Hasto said Megawati would choose a figure who adhered to ideology and was visionary. The reason is that leadership cannot be based solely on electoral numbers or imaging. "We've learned a lot when the leader is only on an electoral basis, imaging, what is needed, it's not a figure who doesn't look like he's cool, handsome, has a vision, has a lot of titles," he said. A leader, continued Hasto, must be able to see the future of the nation and the wishes of the community. Not only that, this figure must also be able to work professionally. Even so, Hasto did not want to make assumptions about this figure. Moreover, his party has many options and the final decision is in the hands of Megawati as the general chairman.

"So, what Mrs. Megawati is looking for and prepared by Mrs. Mega is an ideologically strong leader, visionary leader, capable leader, professional leader, but at the same time understanding the will of the people," he concluded.
