Integrated With KRL, Jokowi Optimistic Millennial Residentials In Depok Reduce Congestion In Jabodetabek

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo inaugurated the Millennial Residential for Indonesia, which is located in the Depok area, West Java, today. This apartment is located right next to Pondok Cina Commuter Line Station. During his inauguration, Jokowi believed that Millennial Residential for Indonesia could reduce congestion in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek). This is because the residents of this apartment do not need to bother using public transportation because it is already attached to a train station. "This is prepared for millennial housing. If they buy, the bonuses can be trains. Get up and down, jump right away, have entered the KRL anywhere. So, we all don't depend on private vehicles, with congested cars, especially in Jabodetabek," said Jokowi, Thursday, April 13. Jokowi views that housing in traffic jam cities like this is very attractive to the public, especially millennial groups. The price of one unit in this apartment managed by BUMN, he continued, is quite cheap, starting from Rp. 200 million for subsidized units, then Rp. 300 million and Rp. 500 million. "The thing I'm most happy about (MillionaireSHIP for Indonesia) in Depok, jumping to a near hospital, to a near UI, to HI is also close because it immediately jumps onto a train, until in a short time, everywhere," he said. According to Jokowi, the existence of housing in big cities adjacent to public transportation modes like this must continue to be developed. The former governor of DKI Jakarta said that there is still a lot of land owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) around KRL stations that can be built like Millennial Residential for Indonesia.

"We will develop it in all cities, especially PT KAI's lands that are not well utilized. Later (development) will cooperate with PT Perumnas, Ministry of Public Works. We must build as many houses as possible," explained Jokowi.
