KPK Checks Wijaya Karya Employees Regarding Corruption Cases

JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators summoned Wijaya Karya's Marketing staff, Firjan Taufa as a witness, Friday, January 15.

Originally Firjan would be examined in the investigation of the alleged corruption case of the Waterfront City Bridge construction project or the Bangkinang Bridge, Kampar Regency, Riau for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

"The person concerned will be examined as a witness for the suspect AN (Adnan)," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in an official statement in Jakarta.

In this case, yesterday the KPK also summoned Wijaya Karya (Persero) President Director Agung Budi Waskito to be summoned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator. The boss of Wika is being questioned for suspect I Ketut Suarbawa, Manager of Operations Division I of PT Wijaya Karya.

Apart from Agung Budi Waskito, yesterday the KPK also summoned PT Wijaya Karya employee Ade Wahyu. He will also be examined as a witness for suspect I Ketut Suarbawa. "He is also a witness," said Ali.

In this case the KPK named two suspects, namely Adnan and Ketut Suarbawa in the alleged corruption case of the construction project of the Waterfront City Bridge or Bangkinang Bridge, Kampar Regency, Riau for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.

Adnan and Ketut Suarbawa allegedly colluded in the Waterfront City Bridge project or the Bangkinang Bridge in Kampar Regency in 2015-2016 which cost Rp. 117.68 billion.

The KPK suspects that there has been cooperation between Adnan and I Ketut Suarbawa regarding the estimated price for the implementation of the multi-year Waterfront City Bridge construction, which is funded by the 2015 APBD, the 2015 Revised APBD and the 2016 APBD. As a result of this conspiracy, state finances suffered losses estimated at more than Rp. 50 billion.

"It is suspected that in this project there has been a financial loss of at least around Rp. 50 billion from the value of the multi-year Waterfront city bridge construction project in the 2015 and 2016 fiscal years with a total contract value of Rp. 117.68 billion," said Lili.
