Chased By Satpol PP, Illegal Parking Officer In Pulogadung Escapes, Buskers And Beggars Arrested And Sent To Social Institutions

JAKARTA After controlling a number of areas in Pulogadung, the East Jakarta Satpol PP again held the same action in the Cakung area. A raid on the Need for Social Welfare Services (PPKS) was carried out so that people felt safe and comfortable in the middle of carrying out worship in the month of Ramadan.

The raids carried out today, Wednesday afternoon, March 29, officers netted eight PPKS in Pulogadung District. "Earlier, we conducted a sweep on Jalan Pemuda, Jalan Kayu Putih, Balai Pustaka and Jalan Ahmad Yani. Eight people were caught in the PPKS raid in the Pulogadung area," said Head of the PP Pulogadung District, Andik Setiyono, Antara, Wednesday, March 29. Andik said, the eight people who were caught were immediately taken to the Social Home in Cipayung to get guidance. Before being brought in, they were recorded by Satpol PP officers. During the raid, a number of illegal parking attendants who used to operate on the road fled when Satpol PP officers tried to arrest him. Satpol PP officers had received resistance from illegal parking attendants who were reluctant to be transported into the car. One of the youths tried to escape from the officers' pursuit until they were finally caught. According to him, not only illegal parking attendants were arrested, but buskers and used goods collectors were also arrested by officers.

Earlier, Tuesday night, March 28, the East Jakarta Satpol PP assisted by the TNI and Polri also confiscated dozens of bottles of liquor (alcohol) on Jalan Raya Bogor, Pasar Rebo and Kramat Jati. "We carried out Community Disease Operations (Pekat) at a number of points in Pasar Rebo and Kramat Jati. We confiscated 72 bottles of alcohol from a number of shops," said Satpol PP M Syarif officers at Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta. The Pekat operation was carried out based on the DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation No. 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order and the 187 Governor's Regulation on Control and Supervision of the Circulation of Alcoholic Drinks. Not only confiscating dozens of bottles containing alcohol, officers also netted seven PPKS on Jalan Gongseng, Pasar Rebo.
