Mataram Satpol PP Disbands Places To Eat Open During The Day During Ramadan

(Satpol PP) Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara Province, conducted raids on food stalls that open during the day or outside the provisions during Ramadan 1444 Hijri (ANTARA)

The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara Province, has dispersed the activities of dozens of food stalls that are open during the day during Ramadan 1444 Hijri.

"From the raid on food stalls, we found that there are still around 15 stalls that open and serve buyers during the day," said Head of Mataram City Satpol PP Irwan Rahadi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 28.

It was stated that the raid activity was a follow-up to the Circular of the Mayor of Mataram Number: 100.3.4/275/SETDA/III/2023, concerning the Implementation of the Activities of the Holy Month of Ramadan 1444 Hijri/2023 AD.

In the circular, it is stated that restaurants, stalls, restaurants and lesehan in Mataram City can open their businesses starting at 16.00 WITA until 04.30 WITA.

"Therefore, we will take firm action against business owners who do not obey the existing regulations," he said.

It is said that the dozens of stalls that were found operating during the day were located at several points, including Jalan Ismail Marzuki, a shopping center area, Pancaka, and Karang Tapen.

During the raid, shop activities were seen closed because the buyer's vehicle was also stored in an invisible place. However, after the Satpol PP members entered, it turned out that many people were eating in it.

"We disband the shop activities and ask the traders to close," he said.

To avoid the same thing, the Satpol PP ranks have warned shop owners not to open stalls before 16.00 WITA according to the circular that has been given and socialized D-2 for Ramadan 1444 Hijri.

"After we warn and remind you, we will give you three days while being monitored. If within three days they do not heed the warning, we will take firm action by controlling all their merchandise," he said.

Meanwhile, continued Irwan, the results of raids at restaurants and ready-to-eat restaurants, so far they are still obedient to the determination of the schedule for opening and closing hours during fasting.

"Indeed, many asked for relief to open hours before the provisions, but we still directed them to follow the existing rules," he said.
