The Governor, 12 Regents And 7 Mayors In West Sumatra Do Not Reject The COVID-19 Vaccine

PADANG - West Sumatra Province COVID-19 Task Force spokesman Jasman confirmed that no regional head in the area refused to be vaccinated.

"The governor and 12 regents and seven mayors in West Sumatra are all willing to be vaccinated. Nobody refuses," he said in Padang as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 13.

According to him, the schedule for injecting the COVID-19 vaccine for governors and regents / mayors has been arranged and preparations have been made.

"The governor will be on January 14, 2021, while the regent / mayor will be the following day," he said.

In addition to the regional heads of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at the provincial and district / city levels, they will also be injected with the COVID-19 vaccine.

Jasman said that after all heads of government, from the president to regents / mayors, have been injected with the vaccine, there is no longer any reason for the public to be afraid and hesitant to be vaccinated.

Meanwhile the Governor of West Sumatra Irwan Prayitno said that until now there had been no sanctions prepared for people who refused to be vaccinated.

"We don't make sanctions ourselves. Join the center," he said.

Previously West Sumatra received 36,920 doses of Sinovac vaccine. The vaccine is prioritized for health workers who frequently interact with COVID-19 patients.
