Deputy I for Prevention, Protection, and Deradicalization of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Maj. Gen. TNI Tombstone Setiadi revealed that DKI Jakarta is a province prone to being targeted by terrorist attacks because there are many vital objects.

This was revealed by Tombstone after meeting the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono. According to Tombstones, Jakarta has many vital objects that have the potential to become objects of terror.

"DKI Jakarta has more targets that terrorism can find. For example, in embassies, MH Thamrin area, several public facilities have been terrorized," said Tombstone at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, March 28.

During his meeting with Heru, Tombstone discussed the socialization of BNPT Regulation Number 3 of 2020 concerning Guidelines for the Protection of Strategic Vital Object Infrastructure and Public Facilities in the Prevention of Terrorism Crimes.

Tombstone explained that BNPT will help the DKI Provincial Government to assess vital objects that become terror-prone locations in the capital, from government offices to entertainment venues.

"We have agreed that later we will provide assistance to the DKI Regional Government to uniquely assess strategic vital objects so that Jakarta is safe because this is a barometer. The first is City Hall, then offices or public facilities, including entertainment venues and hotels," he explained.

In particular, BNPT will also conduct an assessment of the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium and hotels in Jakarta which are planned to be the venue for the U-20 World Cup participants. Although, currently FIFA has canceled the U-20 World Cup drawing in Bali.

"In the near future, for the FIFA U20 event, we will assess the GBK stadium which will be used for the U-20 World Cup, including several hotels that will be occupied by them," said Tombstone.

Tombstone explained that the assessment of GBK and hotels where U-20 World Cup participants were staying was carried out by checking the minimum standards of security and terror alertness. BNPT cooperates with the Police in this assessment.

"The assessment anticipates how these places and facilities meet the minimum standard requirements that must be held, the facilities and infrastructure, CCTV, and so on," he said.
