Komjen Listyo Sigit Becomes A Candidate For Chief Of Police, Hopefully Cooperation With The KPK Will Get Better

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) staff forum has spoken about the election of Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo as a candidate for National Police to replace Idham Azis.

Chairman of the KPK Employees Forum Yudi Purnomo Harahap said President Joko Widodo's choice to make Listyo Sigit a candidate for the National Police Chief was right. This is because Listyo, who now sits as Head of Criminal Investigation, is a professional and reformist figure.

"He is known as a reformist and professional police officer. One proof of this is that when he served as Kabareskrim, he was successful in handling major corruption cases," said Yudi in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, January 16.

With Listyo Sigit being nominated, in the future he hopes that the cooperation between the police and the anti-dispute commission can be better. Not only that, Yudi also believes that the police can move forward under Listyo's leadership.

"We hope that the cooperation between the Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission will get better in joint efforts to create an Indonesia that is free from corruption," he said.

As previously reported, the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) received a Presidential Letter regarding the name of the candidate for Chief of Police of the Republic of Indonesia.

Surpres number: R-02 / Pres / 01/2021 was conveyed by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno to the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, at the Parliament building, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 13.

"On this day, President Joko Widodo has submitted a proposal from the Chief of Police to the Indonesian Parliament, on behalf of Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to obtain DPR approval," Puan said in his official statement.
