TANGERANG - Tangerang Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol. Zain Dwi Nugroho emphasized that his party would not hesitate to take firm action against individuals who force them to ask business actors for holiday donations (THR).

In a statement received in Tangerang, Zain appealed to business actors who received intimidation that the THR request immediately reported to the command center of the Tangerang Metro Police, Call Center 110.

"Ormas, (which) ask for donations (THR) by force by threatening and means of thuggery, we will take firm action in accordance with applicable laws," said Zain.

He explained according to the direction of the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Muhammad Fadil Imran, the Tangerang City Metro Police will not tolerate and be ready to eradicate all acts of thuggery, including extortion carried out by a number of individuals ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H.

"I order all police officers if they receive complaints from the public regarding the THR request with elements of extortion by certain elements or unscrupulous mass organizations, immediately follow up and take firm action," he said.

He added that the police cannot work alone without participation from the community. If there are residents in the jurisdiction of the Tangerang City Metro Police who are victims of THR extortion, it is hoped that they will immediately report and not hesitate, let alone feel afraid.

"Immediately report if you become a victim of extortion, we have a police officer, (manager) RW, there is Bhabinkamtibmas, there is a nearby police station, or you can come to the Tangerang City Metro Police Headquarters," he explained.

He also appealed to the whole community to remind teenagers in their respective environment not to take actions that could harm themselves and others. This is in response to the rampant brawls carried out by a group of teenagers during the month of Ramadan.

"Criminal activities are certainly increasing, protecting the environment, increasing poskamling from all forms of crime. Parents who have teenagers, please monitor every activity outside the home," said Zain.
