2 Policemen Caught For Drug Case Are Arrested

SURABAYA - Director of Narcotics Research at the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Arie Ardian, confirmed the arrest of two police officers by the Madiun Police Narcotics Unit for misusing crystal methamphetamine.

"That's true," said Kombes Arie Ardian during the destruction of drug evidence at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters, Surabaya, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 21.

One policeman with the initials PB is a member of the Polsek within the jurisdiction of the Madiun Police. While one other, DS is a member of the Genteng Police, Surabaya.

Arie dismissed the suspicion that the two of them were dealers. This officer with three golden jasmines said that the two of them were only looking for drugs. "Looking for stuff," he said.

Not only as a seeker of illicit goods, Arie received a report from the Madiun Police Satresnarkoba if the two policemen consumed methamphetamine. This was found after a urine test was carried out on both of them. "It's positive," he said.

Regarding the drugs that are usually sold by PB and DS, Arie made sure that they only met methamphetamine. Unfortunately, he could not provide further details regarding the amount of methamphetamine that had been sold by the two policemen because it is currently still under investigation by the Madiun Police Narcotics Unit.

This case began with the development of a methamphetamine-type narcotics case with the suspect being a civilian with the initials S. It is known that S was a methamphetamine dealer who was arrested on February 24, 2023.

To the police, S admitted to getting methamphetamine from a policeman with the initials PB. After investigation, it turned out that PB was a member of the Madiun Regional Police Sector Police.

"After interrogation, PB admitted that he got the goods from a member of the DS Police who served at the Surabaya Police," said Madiun Police Chief AKBP Anton Prasetyo, Monday (20/3).

Not waiting for a long time, the Madiun Police moved to arrest DS. Based on the results of the information obtained by the investigators, DS sold 5 grams of methamphetamine at a price of IDR 6 million to PB.

"The three suspects have been detained," said Anton.
