Worked On Since The Anies Baswedan Era, The Ciliwung River Garbage Filtering Project Has Not Been Completed

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, admitted that until now the construction of the Ciliwung River waste screening system in the Simatupang TB Street segment, South Jakarta, has not yet been completed. This project began to be carried out since Anies Baswedan was still the Governor of DKI Jakarta. Asep said that there are still 22 plots of land in the Tanjung Barat waste sieve project which cannot be acquired by the DKI Water Resources Service. Most of the unsecured land belongs to PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PP) Tbk. "The garbage filter is constrained by land acquisition. There is land acquisition with the Water Resources Service which has not been resolved because there is a problem with the PP," Asep told reporters, Tuesday, March 21. Actually, PT PP already wants their land to be purchased by the DKI Provincial Government as land for the waste sieve project. However, the land still has administrative completeness problems. However, Asep did not disclose specifically about this. "From the SDA side, the information on the budget has been (prepared) from the end of last year, it was stated that they are ready to buy (the land belonging to PT PP), but internal problems have not been resolved," said Asep. Asep admitted that the problem with land acquisition also resulted in the target of completing the waste sieve construction being delayed. In fact, the DKI Provincial Government targets the sieve to be able to operate last January. "About disturbing, for sure yes. In the end, it became slow. But slowly we can still build it. It doesn't interfere with the whole of the construction. At the most, there are some access roads that may still not be connected," he explained. The construction of a sieve that can accommodate 40 m3/day waste has been planned by former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan since 2018. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this project with a budget of IDR 195 billion will only be implemented in 2022.
