JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said Indonesia could be big because of the support of religious leaders and traditional leaders. Moreover, Jokowi appreciated the contribution of religious leaders and traditional leaders of South Kalimantan in encouraging development in Indonesia.

President Jokowi conveyed this when holding a meeting with a number of religious leaders and traditional South Kalimantan leaders at the Wisma Tamu Pendopo Bersinar Tabalong Complex, Tabalong Regency, Friday, after attending the Istigasah and Prayers with Rabithah Melayu-Banjar.

"I really really appreciate the efforts that South Kalimantan has made, by Tabalong Regency, and our cooperation, the central government, provinces, regions, and scholars in order to fix, improve what is not good," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 17.

The President reminded that as a large country consisting of at least 17 thousand islands accompanied by existing geographical challenges, Indonesia's management requires the hard work and cooperation of all parties.

Nevertheless, the President still believes that Indonesia will succeed in becoming a big country with the support of all these parties.

"I believe God willing, both now and the leaders who will come if it is supported by religious scholars with the support of prayers and encouragement from the community, I believe this country will become a big country, both economically and others," he said.

Previously, while attending the Istigasah and Joint Prayers of the Malay-Banjar Rumah, the President had expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support of the Banjar Malay community for the development of the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan.

The President hopes that the people of Malay Banjar will become the host on their own land and play an active role and take an important part in the history of the realization of IKN.

The President had emphasized that IKN would be the gateway to accelerating development on the island of Kalimantan.

Also accompanying the President to meet religious leaders and traditional South Kalimantan leaders were Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor, and Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani.
