JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Abdullah Azwar Anas considers opening private schools in the State Capital (IKN) Nusantara to accelerate the transfer of state civil servants (ASN).
The Minister of Administrative Affairs explained that the tax incentives for international and Islamic schools loved in Jakarta were a proposal from the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
"I think he withdrew an offer from Mr. Heru on how to work with the Governor of DKI to provide incentives, for example schools that I don't call brands and names that are good, which are loved by many people, now immediately move there with for example tax incentives," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 15.
According to the Minister of Administrative Affairs, opening schools will make it easier for ASN who have children to move to IKN.
He explained that Kemenpan RB did not consider the priority of ASN who were not married ("single") and were married to move to IKN.
"So if there are schools there, for example international schools, good Islamic schools, and other good schools to move there, it's good. Instead, how to speed up the transfer there," said Azwar Anas.
Currently, Kemenpan RB is finalizing the transfer of ASN to IKN. In accordance with the direction of President Joko Widodo, it has been decided that there are around 16,990 ASN from 35 ministries/agencies, TNI, and Polri who will move to IKN.
Azwar Anas said there was an additional budget for the construction of apartments where ASN, including the TNI and Polri, live. The ASN on duty at IKN will occupy the official residence in the apartment.
The consideration for building apartments, he said, aims to make the green open space in IKN wider. In addition, the IKN area will be equipped with a number of international facilities, such as schools and hospitals.
"Later, schools will be provided, international standard hospitals, then the green open space is unusually wide, so the air will be healthier," he added.
According to him, many ASN are interested in moving to IKN. One of the reasons young people are willing to move is because of the implementation of the digital system at IKN Nusantara.
