PKB Young Spokesperson: Elections Have Been Determined February 14, 2024, Continue!

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Millennial PKB, Mikhael Sinaga, emphasized that his party wants the implementation of the general election (Pemilu) to continue in accordance with the scheduled agenda, namely on February 14, 2024. According to him, the postponement of the 2024 election will rob the people of democracy.

"From the PKB glasses, if the election is not carried out according to what has been determined, namely February 14, it is the same as seizing people's rights," said Mikhawa in a discussion on the Trijaya Polemic entitled Political Dynamics Ahead of 2024 which was broadcast online, Saturday, March 11.

Michael assessed that the issue of postponement of elections should not be rolled out again. Because he said, if this happens, it will become a bad president for democracy in the country.

"So, we should not start a bad tradition in this republic. It takes people's rights and replaces them arbitrarily that the election is 'that's better in 2025, better in 2026 or better at any time'. This will lead to bad precedents, elections are uncertain," he said.

"This will be a weapon in the future, so it's very dangerous," added Mikha.

Penghitah kembali menegaskan, PKB tetap ingin Pemilu 2024 dilakukan tepat waktu, sebagaimana yang telah ditetapkan DPR, Pemerintah dan Penyelenggara Pemilu yakni dilaksanakan pada 14 Februari 2024.

"So according to the PKB, the election must be held on February 14, 2024. The way continues to be the election," he said.

Persecutedly reminded that the decision of the Central Jakarta District Court on the Prima Party's lawsuit regarding the postponement of elections had violated the rules. "If the Prima Party does not accept it because they do not participate in the election, they will follow the legal instruments, but what is decided at the Central Jakarta District Court has violated it," he said. He added that his party had prepared all stages of elections in accordance with the process regulated in the legislation. "PKB has prepared a quota of women, a quota of young people is also very large," he concluded.
