Bandar Lampung Narcotics Prison Holds Sports Week, Followed By 632 Participants

BANDAR LAMPUNG - To welcome the 59th Correctional Bhakti Day, Bandar Lampung Class II A Narcotics Prison held a sports and cultural arts week which was attended by 632 participants consisting of inmates and prison officers.

A total of eight sports are contested, namely futsal, volleyball, chess, table tennis, badminton, gape, block cleanliness, and others.

"The opening of this sports and cultural arts week is held in prisons and detention centres throughout Indonesia to welcome Correctional Day", said Head of Narcotics Class II A Bandar Lampung, Porman Siregar after opening the sports and cultural arts week at Bandar Lampung Prison.

He continued, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 10, this activity was carried out for three weeks starting today, activities are also to unite the inmates and officers so that they can jointly maintain security and order in prisons.

Porman also hopes that especially for the inmates and officers who take part in these activities always form a spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness between officers and inmates.

"We hold this activity so that they feel they have not lost as citizens and they feel that they still have the nature or self-respect as humans because of the collaboration between officers and inmates", he said.

The opening of the sports and cultural arts week was marked by a balloon band cut by the Narcotics Head of Bandar Lampung. At the opening, there was also a parade held by inmates and officers to introduce each sport.
