Caught In Operation, South Sumatra Police Secures Armed Thief

Palembang - South Sumatra Regional Police officers arrested a perpetrator of theft and violence (curas) armed with cross-provincial fire in the Ogan Ilir Regency, Friday.

Head of Sub-Directorate III Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Sumsel Kompol Agus Prihadinika said the perpetrator had the initials AL (42), a resident of Mesuji Regency, Lampung.

"The perpetrator was immediately detained at the South Sumatra Police Headquarters underwent an investigation process," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 10.

He continued, the perpetrators of the Navy were caught in the operation of the Opsnal Unit 5 Sub-Directorate III Jatanras when the person concerned crossed the Palembang-Indralaya Cross Road, Ogan Ilir at around 17.00 WIB.

From there, the police found a silver short-barreled revolver type homemade in a motor wind filter driven by the Navy perpetrators.

He said, to investigators, the Navy admitted that the firearm containing five 5.56 mm caliber bullets belonged to him.

The firearms were used by the perpetrators to protect themselves when carrying out the theft that had been carried out in many areas.

"We are coordinating with other regional police because the crime scene is cross-provincial not only South Sumatra but is in Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with violating Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law number 12 of 1951 with the threat of life imprisonment.
