West Papua Police Resnarkoba Director Kombes PolIndra Napitupulu said FK was arrested after reports of marijuana-type narcotics suppliers using passenger ships from Jayapura to Manokwari.
"FK was arrested on Saturday (March 4) with evidence of marijuana weighing 6.6 kilograms from PNG (Papua New Guinea) through Jayapura," he said when releasing the case in Manokwari, Wednesday,
Napitupulu explained that the 6.6 kg of marijuana was divided into two different sacks to trick officers during an inspection at Manokwari Port.
"The marijuana was put in the Silel Rice rice sack measuring 10 kilograms and a sack measuring 5 kilograms and there were two rolled marijuana found in the FK backpack," he said.
The police are now hunting for another perpetrator with the initials Y who first went down at Biak Port. From the information obtained by the police, Y is the owner of the illicit goods.
"FK received evidence of marijuana from Y when the ship was about to depart from Biak Harbor to Manokwari Port," he said.
Currently, the suspect FK is being held in the West Papua Police Detention Room for examination by investigators.
"We are currently developing to arrest dealers who employ them, our target is to go there," he said.
