The Joint SAR Team managed to evacuate four passengers of a fishing boat that was swayed by the engine while looking for fish in the waters of Kolisia, Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"The team managed to find the ship at 05.30 WITA and then evacuated all passengers safely and arrived in Maumere at 07.30 WITA," said Head of the Search and Rescue Office, Basarnas Maumere, Mexianus Bekabel, in Maumere, Sikka Regency, Thursday, March 2, confiscated by Antara.

The search was carried out on initial information received by the Maumere SAR Office from the wife of one of the victims on Thursday, 03.45 WITA.

This incident occurred when four fishermen boarded the boat to look for fish at 01.00 WITA to Ndete waters. However, at 02.30 WITA the ship experienced engine failure.

Based on the report received, the Maumere SAR Office together with potential SAR agencies such as Polair Maumere, Lanal Maumere, KSOP Maumere carried out the SAR Operation and dispatched the team at 04.00 WITA. The five teams carried out evacuation efforts.

Mexianus said the survivors had been picked up by their respective families.
