North Aceh Prosecutor's Office Prepares 30 Witnesses For Corruption Cases Of The Pasai Ocean Monument

ACEH - The public prosecutor (JPU) of the North Aceh District Attorney's Office has prepared 30 witnesses in a corruption case in the construction of the Samudra Pasai Monument with state losses reaching Rp44.7 billion. Head of the Intelligence Section of the North Aceh District Attorney, Arif Kadarman, said that the Public Prosecutor perfected the indictment before transferring it to the Banda Aceh Corruption Court. "For witnesses, there are 30 people who have been prepared to be presented to the court. This case is still under improvement of the indictment. After the improvement of the indictment, the Public Prosecutor immediately transferred the case along with the suspect and evidence to the court," said Arif Kadarman in Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, March 1. In this case, he said, there were five suspects or potential defendants. The five suspects are currently being held at the Lhoksukon Penitentiary, North Aceh Regency. Regarding the new suspect, his party will see later in the trial. If at the trial there is development, the case will be developed. "There may be a new suspect, it could be," said Arif Kadarman. He said the five suspects had the initials FB as a budget user who is also the Head of the Culture Tourism Office of North Aceh Regency during the construction. Furthermore, the suspect with the initials NU as the official commitment maker (PPK), suspect TM as a work partner, PO as the supervisory consultant, and RF as the implementing contractor. The five suspects were charged with multiple articles, the primary violated Article 2 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) letter (a) and (b) Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, the subsidiary violated Article 18 paragraph (1) letter (a) and letter (b) of Law no. 31/1999 as amended by Law no. 20/2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code. "Hopefully the prosecutor can immediately complete the indictment file so that it can be transferred and tried at the Banda Aceh Corruption Court," said Arif Kadarman. The construction of the Pasai Ocean Islamic Monument is financed by the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). The construction of the monument was carried out by five companies from 2012 to 2017. In 2012, the project was carried out by PT PNM with a budget of Rp9.5 billion, then PT LY was carried out with a budget of Rp8.4 billion in 2013. In 2014 PT TH was carried out with a budget of Rp4.7 billion. In 2015 PT PNM was carried out with a budget of Rp11 billion, in 2016 PT TH was carried out with a budget of Rp9.3 billion, and PT TAP was carried out in 2017 with a budget of Rp5.9 billion. "From the results of the examination, the work did not match the specifications. Many parts of the work were not carried out so that the condition of the monument building was not sturdy. The state loss was IDR 44.7 billion," said Arif Kadarman.
