Check The Feasibility Of 22 Post-Employment Buildings, BPBD Papua Calls Jayapura Hospital In The Prone Category

PAPUA - Jayapura Hospital Building is categorized as being careful or vulnerable based on the BPBD assessment after the Jayapura 5.4 seesaw earthquake (M) on Thursday 9 February.

Head of BPBD Papua Welliam R Manderi said his party was continuing to inspect other government-owned buildings in Jayapura.

"We are conducting a rapid assessment of the hospital so that the patients can be treated immediately and get a proper place," he said in Jayapura, Tuesday, February 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

Manderi said the Jayapura Hospital was categorized carefully based on the results of the examination of 22 buildings affected by the Jayapura earthquake.

"The two buildings in the Jayapura Hospital that are prone are the logistics building and operating rooms," he said.

He explained that although the building belonging to Papua Province is still in the feasibility examination stage, public services are still running as they should.

"Public services are still running as usual, it's just that we have appealed to remain careful because until now earthquakes still often occur," he said.

As is known, the M 5.2 earthquake rocked Jayapura on February 9. The earthquake caused four victims to die and buildings suffered minor and severe damage.
