Ukraine Godok New Air Defense Amid Threats Of Russian Orestnic Missiles

JAKARTA - President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine was working to develop a new type of air defense to counter the "new risk" following Russia's new medium-range missile deployment in a war that had lasted for 33 months.

Zelenskyy in a video address Friday evening, November 22, said testing a new weapon for terror purposes in other countries was an international crime. He issued a new call for a "serious response" around the world to prevent Russia from expanding the war.

"On my behalf, the Ukrainian Defense Minister has held a meeting with our partners on a new air defense system capable of protecting lives from new risks," Zelenskyy said.

"When someone starts using other countries not only to carry out terror, but also to test their new missiles through acts of terror, then this is clearly an international crime," he continued.

He said the world needed to give a serious response so Russian President Vladimir Putin was truly "treatful" to expand the war.

Zelenskyy called on Ukrainians to be vigilant against further Russian attacks.

"There is no other way in war," he said.

"We must be aware that Putin's 'friends' will continue to try to intimidate us. That's how he builds all of his strength," the President of Ukraine added.
