PPP Predicts Announcement Of Menpora's Name To Replace Amali Accompanied By Empty Wamen Post Filling

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PPP DPP Achmad Baidowi or Awiek predicts that the name of the seat filler of the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) after the death of Zainudin Amali will be announced along with the vacant position of deputy minister (wamen).

"PPP has in principle fully handed over to President Jokowi. But at least, the signals have started to become clear if there will be a change, one of which is from the Minister of Youth and Sports. People have submitted their resignations, in politics, it is impossible for people who have resigned," Awiek told reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 28. "But if there is a reshuffle, yes, that is the momentum for President Jokowi to fill out the vacant Wamen post. My prediction, Menpora with the deputy minister," he continued. However, Awiek emphasized that the matter of cabinet reshuffle is the prerogative of the president. In particular, replacing ministers who are less performing roles in carrying out their duties.

"He (the president) has prerogative, if there are cabinets who think his performance is not good, then there is nothing wrong with the President doing a reshuffle," said Awiek. "But, what is clear is that today some deputy ministerial posts are still empty. Yes, it could be that if there is a reshuffle it will also be filled, the others are up to President Jokowi. He already has a cabinet work parameter book," he added.

The secretary of the PPP faction of the DPR also stated that his party cadres were ready if President Jokowi asked him to fill the position or vice minister. "If PPP is believed we are ready, right, but we can't dictate to the president," said Awiek. As is known, Zainudin Amali has stated that he will resign from the position of Minister of Youth and Sports after being elected as deputy chairman of PSSI. Amali reasoned that as a minister in charge of sports, it is unfair if he only focuses on dealing with certain sports (sports), namely football.

President Jokowi has also confirmed that Amali has submitted an informal resignation request to him.

However, regarding the replacement of Zainudin Amali as Menpora, Jokowi has not yet given a definite answer. "Change it later when there is an official, then I will talk," said Jokowi.
