Playing Cool, 12 Candidates For DPD Catut 1,616 Bengkulu Residents As Supporters

BENGKULU - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bengkulu Province found 1,616 names of residents in 10 districts/cities used as supporters of the prospective individual 12 members of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD).

Bengkulu Province KPU commissioner Emex Verzoni said that the discovery of 1,616 community names was known after his party carried out the stages of factual verification of minimal support. "For factual verification of 12 individual candidates for DPD RI Bengkulu Province as many as 1,616 supports did not meet the requirements," said Emex, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 27. Then as many as 10,293 sample supports that have met the requirements of the results of the temporary verification with the total number of 14,193 samples in regencies/cities. He stated that until now his party continues to carry out the factual verification process for 12 candidates for DPD RI Bengkulu electoral district members. "For supporters who do not state support and feel painted, the results do not meet the requirements," he said. Emex said that the district/city-level KPU assisted by the voting committee (PPS) carried out factual verification of support samples and ensured that the support provided by supporters was correct and the supporting identity listed on the support list was also correct.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Bengkulu KPU, Irwan Saputra, explained that factual verification is carried out by directly meeting supporters or collecting supporters in one place. "However, if these two methods cannot be carried out, then factual verification will be carried out through telecommunications tools in the form of video calling and support making video recording statements providing support to supporting candidates for DPD RI members," he explained. He ensured that during the verification there was no fraud because during the KPU verification process in their respective regions together with PPS, he would be accompanied by a companion from prospective members of the DPD RI and Panwaslu. Then, he said, the officers together with the witnesses and a team of candidates for DPD RI members would sign the work report.

The following are the names of 12 candidates for members of the DPD RI Bengkulu Province, namely Abdul Kharis Ma'mun, Ahmad Kanedi, Andrian Wahyudi, Def Tri Hardianto, Destita Khairilisani, Edu Agusdin, Elisa Ermasari, Imron Rosyadi, Leni Haryati Jon Latief, Patrice Rio Capela, Rahiman Dani, and Sultan Bakhtiar Najamudin.
