Bekasi Regency Government Prepares Popok-Informed Assistance For Balita 16 Bulan Yang Alami Obesitas

JAKARTA - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java, has prepared logistical assistance for a 16-month-old toddler Muhammad Kenzi Alfaro who is overweight or obese with a weight of 27 kilograms.

Secretary of the Bekasi Regency Social Service, Kustanto, said that his party had known information about Kenzi's parents who had difficulty finding baby diapers measuring XXXL.

"For diapers and the like, we will prepare and distribute them soon to Tarumajaya District or at Kenzi's parents' residence," he said in Cikarang, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 25.

His party will also conduct an assessment of Kenzi's parents to ensure what needs are most appropriate to be given to their families.

Kustanto admitted that he was worried that when he provided food assistance to Kenzi, it would violate health regulations because Kenzi has now also been handled by the medical team from Hermina Hospital.

"Because we have just received this information, we will immediately conduct an assessment to Kenzi's sister and family. For food, the Health Office may be more competent," he said.

His party also expressed readiness to provide psychosocial assistance to Kenzi if needed with the hope that Kenzi's parents and family would feel calmer and more comfortable.

Previously, Kenzi, a toddler from Tambun Permata Village, Pusaka Rakyat Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency, was overweight.

Kenzi Pitriah's parents admitted that they could not continue to buy baby diapers for Kenzi due to economic problems, plus the basic size of the toddler who was difficult to find in a number of supermarkets.

"So I use the double XL, it also buys the one in the shop, if the triple XL in the shop doesn't exist, the mini market is also rare, he just wears it while sleeping," said Pitriah.
