Social Minister Risma Tepis Setting Action: I Do Not Need To Show Off Work, Do Not Want To Be Happy

JAKARTA - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini (Risma) dismissed accusations that he deliberately 'designed' blusukan by meeting scavengers and homeless people. Risma emphasized that he only works, not imaging.

"My work doesn't need to be flaunted, I really don't want to be happy, but are we numb to see just being silent? Don't look at me as a minister, there are children in the cart. I don't care where I am, if I see I went to something like that, that's our duty as humans, "said Social Minister Risma in Bekasi quoted by Antara, Friday, January 8.

Risma said that her actions in the field were to encourage people with social welfare problems (PMKS) who felt they had no hope of being able to increase the economic level. Risma also made sure to help PMKS to work in a more appropriate place according to their abilities.

"If there is an intention there must be a way as long as there is a willingness like Mr. Irman Yuda, the scavenger I went to and was immediately interested in my offer. Hopefully this will be an encouragement for other scavengers or people who are less fortunate," he said.

Risma also ensured that the activities she carried out by visiting PMKS were not an image, let alone had been planned beforehand.

"I go to Jakarta, I don't know where I want to go, meaning I don't know the road, how do I want the setting. I always move every day and I've been doing it since I was a civil servant, every day I never walk the same road. I have more sustenance than people. so I have the right to give my charity to others, "he said.

One of the PMKS, Irman Yuda (40), admitted that he had worked as a scavenger for six years in Jakarta. When he was met by the Minister of Social Affairs, he immediately accepted the invitation offered to him.

"I wanted to change my life and when mother (Risma) came to visit me and invited me, I immediately accepted. I also wanted to convey a message to my mother in Jogja. Mother, don't worry about me, now, God willing, her life will improve," he said.

Operational Director of PT PP Properti Grand Kamala Lagoon Bekasi, Rudi Harsono, said that the five PMKSs escorted by Social Minister Risma will be employed according to their abilities according to the status of contract workers and will receive wages according to the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) of Bekasi City.

"We will provide them with job training. We need personnel for gardening, apartment cleaning services. We are informed that there is assistance from the ministry, as long as we can help we will accommodate," he said.
