Muhaimin: PKB Ready to Seduce Other Political Parties to Join Kebangkitan Indonesia Raya Coalition

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar said he is ready to persuade other political parties to join the Kebangkitan Indonesia Raya (KIR) Coalition.

"Then we try to seduce and invite everyone", said Muhaimin at the PKB DPP office, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 21.

He explained that every step taken by PKB is always consulted with the Gerindra Party because the party with General Chairman Prabowo Subianto is part of the KIR coalition.

"Anyway, I have to consult and coordinate all steps with Gerindra", he added.

Some time ago, Muhaimin Iskandar met the general chairman of the DPP Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto. The Golkar Party together with the Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) and the Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) have declared the Koalisi Indonesia Bersatu (KIB).

Muhaimin emphasized that he has not thought of pairing up with former DKI Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan who is known to be the presidential candidate for the NasDem Party.

"The point is that nothing is certain yet, but there will be a process of crystallization from the parties", said Muhaimin.

Apart from that, said Muhaimin, the clerics also hoped that the PKB's presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs could be announced before the month of Ramadan.
