Remind Sanctions Against Vaccination, Deputy Governor Riza: Endangering The Safety Of Others

JAKARTA - All regions in Indonesia are preparing to vaccinate against COVID-19 after several doses of the vaccine have been distributed. Deputy Governor of DKI Ahmad Riza Patria again reminded his citizens that there are sanctions for those who refuse to be vaccinated.

These sanctions are listed in the DKI Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2020 concerning Handling COVID-19 which was ratified by the Governor of DKI Anies Baswedan and the DKI DPRD.

Article 30 of Perda 2/2020 states that every person who deliberately refuses to receive treatment and / or vaccination for COVID-19, will be punished with a maximum fine of IDR 5,000,000.

"We, the DKI Provincial Government together with the DPRD, formulate regulations, for those who refuse to be punished with a fine of Rp. 5 million. So, we ask all Jakarta citizens to obey and obey," said Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 6.

Riza admitted that there were a number of residents who refused to be vaccinated against COVID-19 on human rights grounds and they considered vaccination to be voluntary.

However, Riza considers refusal to vaccinate against the corona virus to have a dangerous impact on the safety and health of others, not just yourself.

"In fact, if we are not injected, we will interfere with people's right to life and safety because COVID-19 can quickly infect other people. So please understand why all citizens must be vaccinated and fined for those who refuse," he explained.

Furthermore, Riza again convinced people who were still hesitant to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. The government, he said, was responsible for positioning President Jokowi as the recipient of the first vaccine.

"We, the central government and local governments are responsible. In fact, Pak Jokowi was the first to be injected. So, citizens do not need to worry or fear about vaccines," he concluded.
