YOGYAKARTA - Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said the awarding of honorary honorary honorary honorary degrees to three world religious figures by the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta meant a lot to diversity.

The award was given to the General Chairperson of PBNU KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, the Expert Council of the PP Muhammadiyah Social Service Council, Sudibyo Markus, and the President of the Apparatus Agency for the Vatican Cross Religion Dialogue Cardinal Miguel Angel Ayuso Guixot.

Minister of Religion Yaqut in his speech said that the award was very meaningful not only for NU, Muhammadiyah and Catholics.

"But also for diversity and differences in the spirit between faiths, as a characteristic of UIN Sunan Kalijaga," said Minister of Religion Yaqut at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta, Monday, February 13, as reported by Antara.

Therefore, Yaqut expressed his happiness with the awarding of honoris causa's doctorate to three religious leaders who were wise from the three main people.

The General Chairperson of PBNU, Yahya Cholil Staquf in his speech invited Muslims to take a new vision, develop a new discourse on fiqh, namely fich which can prevent exploitation of identity, prevent the spread of intergroupal hatred, support solidarity, and respect each other's differences between humans, culture and nations in the world.

"As well as supporting the birth of a world order that is truly fair and harmonious. The procedure is based on appreciation for the equal rights and dignity of every human being," he said.

Meanwhile, Sudibyo Markus in his speech said the need to reorganize dreams about global humanity, especially in terms of cross-cultural encounters from previously realized commitments to real action.

According to him, NU and Muhammadiyah are the two brothers of the Islamic movement that the Indonesian people are proud of, as part of the mainstream Islamic movement in Indonesia Washiyatul Islam which is part of history has saved the country from threats, challenges, obstacles and disturbances.

"Until the need to share and understand the history of the past. Not only among religious leaders but also at the level of society, which will involve all elements of various beliefs in their respective environments," he said.

Meanwhile, Miguel Cardinal Angel Ayuso Guixot in his speech said that collaboration between religions can and must support the rights of all mankind, throughout the world at one time.

"We are all part of the family, and therefore we have the same rights as our responsibilities and obligations in this world. That humanity is the root of equality in cooperation and dialogue between religious communities," he said.
