JAKARTA - Acting Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Muhamad Mardiono met former Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Mardiono said the meeting was for preparations ahead of the 2024 elections.

"Every time I come to the area, I always ask the help of leaders, clerics, Islamic boarding schools to always help PPP's struggle. The main mission is preparation before the 2024 elections," he explained, as quoted by ANTARA in a written statement, Monday, February 13.

Mardiono took advantage of the moment of his presence in South Sulawesi to attend PPP's 50th Birthday Celebration, as well as friendship with regional figures.

He hoped that friendship with figures in each region could restore PPP's glory.

“At this golden age, circumstances will change so that people can be trusted like before. Every visit to the area I attend to the figures so that preparations for the General Election are more mature," he stressed.

During the gathering, Mardiono admitted that he discussed many things, such as nationality, Indonesia's development, and politics.
