Light to Heavy Rain Predicted in Major Cities

JAKARTA - The weather forecast is for light to heavy rain to fall in several major cities in Indonesia on Sunday, February 12.

According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), light rain has the potential to occur in the cities of Medan, Pekanbaru, Tanjungpinang, Padang, Jakarta and Semarang.

Light rain is also forecast for the cities of Palangka Raya, Banjarmasin, Tanjung Selor, Ambon, Manokwari, Jayapura, Gorontalo and Kendari.

The cities of Bengkulu, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, Bandung, Denpasar, Mataram and Ternate are predicted to experience moderate-intensity rain.

Rain that can be accompanied by lightning has the potential to occur in the cities of Samarinda, Makassar, Palu, Pangkal Pinang, Jambi, Surabaya and Kupang.

Meanwhile, the cities of Pontianak and Mamuju are likely to experience heavy rains.

Residents in cities that are predicted to experience rain should be aware of the possibility of inundation and flooding.
