WEST SUMATERA - The Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) arrested three teenagers from Payakumbuh City in connection with drug cases. The three of them MR (18), BS (19) and SV (20), acted as couriers who were caught carrying 24 kilograms of dry marijuana.
Head of BNNP West Sumatra, Brigadier General Sukria Gaos, said the cannabis was brought from Panyabungan, North Sumatra, to be distributed in W Sumatra and other areas.
Sukria explained, the arrest which was made in the Palupuah area of Agam Regency on Friday, January 20 started from information that officers received that there was a shipment of dry marijuana from Panyabungan, North Sumatra to the City of Bukittinggi.
The W Sumatra BNNP Eradication Division together with the West Pasaman BNNK conducted a raid on the Bukittinggi-Medan Cross Road to look for the whereabouts of the vehicle transporting the drugs.
During the raid, the officers suspected a car would be passing by, but the car turned back to Penyabungan.
Seeing that, the officer tried to chase the vehicle and saw the occupants of the car throw two large packages from inside the car onto the main road.

"The three of them admitted that they picked up 2 large sacks of marijuana at Penyabungan containing 35 large packages weighing approximately 24 kilograms", he said.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator with the initials SV admitted that the dealer paid IDR 10 million for himself and two of his friends.
"The three of us were given IDR 10 million to deliver this item", he concluded.
