Cikampek Toll Road Direction Jakarta Smooth, Contraflow Stopped

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, through PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tollroad Regional Division, has stopped the enforcement of contraflow currents. The traffic condition for the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) Toll Road towards Jakarta is already smooth.

"Until this information was released, it was observed that the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road heading towards Jakarta was smooth, so since 19.15 WIB the contraflow at Km 61 to Km 47 was stopped," said General Manager Representative Office 1 Jasamarga Transjawa Tollroad Regional Division Widiyatmiko Nursejati quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 3rd.

Jasa Marga also appealed to all road users to ensure that their vehicles are in prime condition, have sufficient electronic money balance, refuel before starting the trip and bring supplies to avoid crowds or congestion in the rest area.

"Always be careful when driving, obey signs and follow directions from officers in the field," said Widiyatmiko.

Previously, Jasamarga Transjawa Tollroad Regional Division at the discretion of the police imposed a contraflow on the Japek Toll Road heading to Jakarta.

The enactment aims to unravel the density that occurs on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.

Jasa Marga predicts that the peak return flow to Jakarta in the framework of the Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021 holidays will occur this Sunday with 205 thousand returning vehicles.

Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru said the prediction figure is a cumulative figure which is estimated to go to Jakarta at several toll gates (GT) barrier / main, namely GT Cikupa (West direction), GT Ciawi (South direction) and GT Cikampek Utama & Kalihurip Utama GT (east direction).

The prediction from the east reaches 56.4 percent of the total traffic. Meanwhile, from the west it was 21.2 percent and from the south it was 22.4 percent.
