KPK Says Lukas Enembe's Health Problem Is Due To Age Factors

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the disease suffered by the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe was due to age. One of the illnesses he suffered was hypertension.

"If there are health problems with hypertension, it's due to the age factor. Maybe it's also due to the condition of the body," said KPK deputy chairman Alexander Marwata as quoted from KPK RI YouTube, Wednesday, January 18.

Alexander said that this statement was not arbitrarily concluded by the KPK but from the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital and the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI). This condition makes treatment abroad felt not important.

"That can be overcome through the examination concerned at RSPAD," he said.

Previously, Lukas was detained after he was named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratuities for project procurement at the Papua Provincial Government. During detention, he appeared to be using a wheelchair.

In this case, it is suspected that Lukas received money from the director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua, Rijantono Lakka, so that the company could get the project. It is suspected that this collusion was also carried out by officials in the Papua Provincial Government.

The agreement between them is to provide a fee of 14 percent of the contract value. Fees must be net of tax deductions.

At least, there are three projects that Rijantono got for this evil agreement. The first is the improvement of the Entrop-Hamadi Road with a project value of IDR 14.8 billion.

Rehabilitation of supporting facilities and infrastructure for Integration PAUD with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion. Finally, the venue environmental management project is developing the AURI outdoor with a project value of IDR 12.9 billion.

After the project was won, Rijantono handed over IDR 1 billion to Lukas. In addition, Lukas is also suspected of receiving gratuities of up to billions of rupiah.
