Terrible Panic At Papua Police Chief's Office House When Caught Fire This Morning

JAKARTA - The official residence of the Papua Regional Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fahiri caught fire this morning. Panic ensued as thick smoke began to appear.

Head of Public Relation of Papua Police Kombes Pol Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo said the fire started to burn the official house on Trikora Street, Dok V Atas, Papua, around 04.45 WIT. As a result, all parts of the building were engulfed in flames.

The fire started when one of the duty officers heard screams from inside the house.

So, the guard immediately went into the house to check. Apparently, from the back of the house had appeared a thick puff of smoke.

"Not long after, an explosion sounded from inside the residence accompanied by flames," Benny told VOI, Tuesday, January 17.

Officers on duty immediately tried to put out the fire. Then asked for help and reported the incident to the Papua Police.

Currently, the cause of the fire is unknown. Investigations and gathering clues are still being carried out.

"There were no casualties during the fire and the causes of the fire are still being investigated," said Benny.
