The three vocational school students with the initials AS, FJ, and DS were detained at the Cilacap Police for the destruction of the laboratory building and the SMK Komputama prayer room, Jeruklegi District, Cilacap Regency, Monday, January 16.

Head of Public Relations of the Cilacap Police, IPTU Gatot Tri Hartanto, said that at around 10.30 WIB, a convoy of school children of about 100 people came riding motorbikes from the south, arrived at the scene where the group stopped and then sounded firecrackers and threw them at the KMPUtama Jeruklegi Vocational School.

"Not only firecrackers, the group also threw stones at the school building, and tried to enter the school area as it was already busy on social media." said Gatot in a written statement, Monday night, January 16.

Gatot also said that not long after the vandalism took place, the Jeruklegi Police, assisted by local residents, managed to disperse a group of school children and managed to secure several school children from SMK S Cilacap.

The Jeruklegi police chief and members went to the crime scene and recorded witnesses, then coordinated with Forkopincam Jeruklegi, as well as the Komputama school.

Gatot asked the teacher of SMK Komputama Jeruklegi to control his students from taking retaliation to Dr. Soetomo's vocational school.
