Dramatic, the Police and the TNI are Chasing the Actors Blocking the ATM in Cipayung, East Jakarta

JAKARTA - Two of the five perpetrators of the theft of money from automated teller machines (ATMs) were successfully arrested by the joint forces of the Indonesian Army (TNI), the Police, and the public when their actions were discovered. It is known that the perpetrators previously acted at 3 locations in the Cipayung area, East Jakarta.

Cipayung Police Chief Commissioner Bayu Marfiando said the incident occurred at around 08.00 WIB. Initially, the perpetrators launched their action in the South Jakarta area and moved to the Taman Mini Green Terrace, but failed because the system read it.

"They moved to another point where they identified that the ATM could be used to block the ATM. That happened at Crocodile Hole", Commissioner Bayu told reporters, Monday, January 16.

However, the actions of the perpetrators at a gas station in the Crocodile Hole area were caught by residents and the five perpetrators fled.

"While at Crocodile Hole, our team along with residents and Indonesian Air Force officers arrested one perpetrator who ran towards the Air Force. We will continue our pursuit to the toll road", he said.

However, the suspects, who fled in a minibus, crashed into another vehicle. But the perpetrators did not stop the speed of the vehicle, the perpetrators actually stepped on the gas again.

"From this suspect, he crashed into the vehicle in front of him. We have secured another suspect with the initials K. So there are a total of 5 perpetrators, two of whom have been arrested. 3 people are being chased", he said.

From the hands of the perpetrators, officers confiscated evidence in the form of iron bars for ATMs and a minibus unit. While the two perpetrators are still under development, they are being charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft by weighting.
