Clashes Of 2 Palm Oil Companies In Siak Riau, Police Have Named 4 Suspects

RIAU - Siak Police have named four suspects in the clash between palm oil companies that occurred between security officers of PT Duta Swakarya Indah and workers in former land managed by PT Karya Dayun.

"From the results of the case conducted by the Siak Police, the four people fulfilled the elements of violating the articles applied," said Siak Police Chief, Siak Police Chief AKBP Ronald Sumaja, in Siak, Sunday, January 8, confiscated by Antara.

The four people were YB (40), MM (37), YS (38) from PT DSI who were charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding criminal acts of beatings. Another MS (48) from PT Karya Dayun was charged with Article 351 concerning criminal acts of persecution.

Three suspects YB, MM, and YS were immediately detained at the Siak Police Detention Center. Meanwhile, the suspect MS is still being treated in hospital because he suffered serious injuries due to clashes last Thursday, January 5.

The police chief explained that the Siak Police had handled this case professionally and according to the procedure. Therefore, he appealed to no one to be excited by false news and provoke.

The incident in front of the former PT Karya Dayun land began with security officers from PT.DSI visiting the local security post.

PT DSI came, he said, to vacate the land and would carry out harvesting on the basis of determining the execution by the Siak District Court.

However, this was rejected and intercepted by employees and security officers of the former PT Karya Dayun and the person carrying the name of one of the mass organizations.

Deputy Head of Siak Police, Kompol Angga Wahyu Prihantoro, with personnel then went to the location and invited both parties to mediate at the Siak Police Office.

But PT DSI security officers led by C continued to enter the land because they were ordered by the Manager of PT DSI to carry out the harvesting and there was a debate between the two parties that led to a commotion. The Siak Police dispersed both parties who were arguing and it was found that one of them was injured and immediately given medical assistance by taking him to the hospital.
