Internal Presidential Candidates Are Not Yet Fit, KIB Is Considered To Be Still Uninstalling Phases To The End Of Registration Limits

Political observer from Diponegoro University, Teguh Yuwono, assesses that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) will continue to 'disassemble the pairs' of presidential and vice presidential candidates (candidates-cawapres).

Teguh said that the discussion of names suitable for those carried out in the 2024 presidential election will continue to be carried out by KIB consisting of Golkar, PAN and PPP until the end of the registration deadline at the General Elections Commission (KPU).

"We are still dismantling the scenario because of course we will see who will be promoted by other parties. The key will be close to the time the registration starts to narrow," said Teguh, Wednesday, January 4.

Talks internally about the right figure to be carried out continue even though the combined votes of the three KIB members of the political parties are sufficient for the presidential threshold. This is because, he continued, KIB does not yet have a strong internal figure to carry in the 2024 presidential election.

"There are no Golkar figures who have received cross-party support as Prabowo and Ganjar have. So it is difficult to dominate the current political discourse," said Teguh.

Previously, Acting Chairperson of PPP Muhammad Mardiono, revealed that KIB would meet in January 2023 to discuss the presidential candidate to be promoted. He also said that there would be a political party of lawmakers that would join. "(KIB) plans to have a meeting in January, we will discuss the presidential candidate. And later there will be a new party that will join KIB," said Acting Chairman of PPP, Mardiono, Wednesday, December 27.

Meanwhile, the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, revealed that the party's grid will join. The color, he said, is in the official ball of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
